UPSC | Engineering Services Exam 2019 | Preliminary Stage-1 | Start Date: 26-09-2018 | Last Date: 22-10-2018

Online Applications are invited from eligible candidates for Preliminary/Stage-I Examination of the Engineering Services Examination, 2019 to be held by the Union Public Service Commission for recruitment to the services/ posts under various ministries (like Railway, Defence, Naval, etc)

Recruitment will be made to the Services/ Posts under the following categories:-

1. Category I-     Civil Engineering.
2. Category II-    Mechanical Engineering. 
3. Category III-   Electrical Engineering. 
4. Category IV-   Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering. 

Candidates will be allotted exam centers on "first-come-first-serve" basis only. 

Eligible candidates may apply online from 26-09-2018 to 22-10-2018.

Minimum Education Qualification:

• obtained a degree in Engineering from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other Educational Institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as Universities under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956; or 
• passed Sections A and B of the Institution Examinations of the Institution of Engineers (India); or 
• obtained a degree/diploma in Engineering from such foreign University/College/Institution and under such conditions as may be recognized by the Government for the purpose from time to time, or 
• passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (India); or 
• passed Associate Membership Examination Parts II and III/Sections A and B of the Aeronautical Society of India;

Medical/ Physical Standards

Candidates finally recommended by the Commission on the basis of Engineering Services Examination, 2019 shall be required to undergo medical examination.

Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to Engineering Services Examination, 2019 as per guidelines given in Appendix-II of the Rules for the Engineering Services Examination, 2019 published in the Gazette of India Extraordinary dated 26.09.2018.

Age Limits (as on 01.01.2019) :

1. A candidate for this examination must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on the 1 st January, 2019 i.e., he/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd January, 1989 and not later than 1st January, 1998. 
2. The upper age-limit of 30 years will be relaxable upto 35 years in the case of Government servants of the following categories, if they are employed in a Department/ Office under the control of any of the authorities and apply for admission to the examination for all or any of the Service(s)/Post(s) for which they are otherwise eligible (except those on Probation Period)

Application Fee:

• Female/SC/ST/ PH : No Fee (exempted)  
• All others : Rs. 200/- (Rupees Two hundred only)

Candidates are required to pay a fee either by depositing the money in any Branch of SBI by cash or by using net banking facility of State Bank of India.

3. Fill basic information ( with valid email + mobile) in Part-I. 
4. Then after part-I registration, pay Online Fees or Print Bank Challan.
5. After fees payment complete application Part-II
6. After completing and submitting final application, take print out from here
